SoDu We Have Favorites 2026: Help South Durham Choose Its Best!

Hey, neighbors!

I'm Wes Platt, your neighborhood news guy, and I'm excited to announce SoDu We Have Favorites 2026, our first community-driven contest celebrating the people, places, and businesses that make South Durham special.

I'm asking you, the heart of our community, to nominate your favorites in categories including Family & Life, Community & Local Favorites, and Work, Business, and Services. Whether it's your go-to coffee shop, a trusted daycare, or a hidden gem in the neighborhood, I want to hear from you.

I’m excited to hear your nominations for the best of South Durham. To ensure fairness and avoid duplicate submissions, I’m requiring all participants to sign in with their Google account. This allows me to limit one submission per person and helps maintain the integrity of the voting process. Your Google login helps me verify that each individual is submitting only once, ensuring the most accurate and unbiased results. Rest assured, your email and personal information will remain private and won’t be shared beyond the contest process. Thank you for your participation, and I look forward to seeing your favorites! Why require a Google login? It's simple. I want to keep the process fair by limiting submissions to one per person. Once nominations are in, we'll find the top contenders in each category, and then the community will vote for the winners.

Please submit your nominations by May 15, 2026. Submit using this Google Form, and watch for details about the voting round. (Also, I'm looking for local businesses to sponsor the three categories - so reach out if you're interested! I'm available via email at wes.platt@southpointaccess.news.)
