Duke, UNC Children's Hospital Coming to Triangle

But where's it going to go?

I thought maybe South Durham stood a chance - dare to dream - but the 500-bed facility's going to need at least 100 acres, and short of preserved land or The Streets at Southpoint mall, we really don't have many suitable locations to build this landmark project.

The hospital, first of its kind in the Carolinas, is expected to open in the 2030s.

DPS Seeks to Calm Fears Among Migrant Families

Unfortunately, one side effect of the new presidential administration is a rising climate of fear and unease - particularly for families with children living in fear of deportation.

On Tuesday, Durham Public Schools issued a statement trying to reassure those families that it wants schools to remain a safe space for students no matter where their families come from.
