Del Taco Coming to South Durham?

Durham County property records confirm that a Del Taco restaurant is coming to the old Thai 55 location near N.C. Hwy. 54 and Apex Highway in South Durham.

A company spokesperson was less forthcoming: “There are no additional details to share regarding the Durham location at this time.”

What we can tell from Del Taco’s website is that the restaurant is expected to open in September at 4716 Apex Highway. Records indicate that it will be a 2,304-square-foot restaurant with a drive-through and infrastructure built after the existing restaurant is removed.

Del Taco is a popular California-based Mexican food chain that started in the 1960s.
