South Durham's Getting a New Mediterranean Restaurant

Cava, a Mediterranean restaurant chain with establishments in Raleigh, Cary, and Chapel Hill, is coming to South Durham’s Renaissance Village.

The restaurant’s operators have started interior redesign work in the old location of Harvest 18, next to Crumbl and across the entrance road from Tomato Jake’s.

“Cava is excited to share our Mediterranean Way with the Durham community!” said Sarah Seale, spokesperson for Cava. “Our location on Renaissance Parkway is currently scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2025.”

She had no other information to share about the new location.

The chain, headquartered in Washington, D.C., was started in 2006 by first-generation Greek Americans Ted Xenohristos, Ike Grigoropoulos, and Dimitri Mosovitis.

Cava’s menu includes a harissa avocado salad and pitas with steak and feta, Greek chicken, or spicy lamb meatball.
