Starbucks Now Gunning for Bean Traders?

Ok, now the recent "Boycott Bean Traders" graffiti at Homestead Market makes a little more sense:

It seems like the old Wendy's location at 295 West NC Hwy. 54 may become a new Starbucks.

According to the Durham zoning map, as of Dec. 18 the city is reviewing a proposal to convert the defunct fast-food restaurant into yet another Starbucks, just across the parking lot from local favorite Bean Traders.

It's not clear how soon the ubiquitous coffee chain might open its doors at this site.
