Thanks for Supporting South Durham Neighborhood News!
With Giving Tuesday on Dec. 2, help Southpoint Access fund deeper South Durham coverage - from meetings to photo/video. Goal: $50k for a full-time reporter; even $300 underwrites a freelance feature.

We're a week away from #GivingTuesday, but it's never too soon to consider supporting your neighborhood news source for South Durham.
Subscribers and sponsors have helped Southpoint Access slowly build momentum as a go-to spot for what's happening from Parkwood to Woodcroft to Fairfield, but let's be honest: we can do a more comprehensive job if we can afford to pay at least one or two people to cover meetings and chase down articles on a full-time basis.
Imagine what we could accomplish with more voices committed to informing our neighbors about new businesses and developments, school events, and local government policies.
Giving Tuesday is Dec. 2. I'm asking for your support so we can:
- Expand coverage of schools, traffic, development, small business, youth sports, and other neighborhood stories.
- Commission more photo/video assignments so you can see South Durham, not just read about it.
- Offer paid opportunities to emerging local journalists and creators.
I dare to dream that we could raise $50,000 to fund a full-time reporter, but even $300 would pay for a freelance-crafted feature article. Every little bit helps.
Support the work of Southpoint Access and together we can support more people doing this work - paying contributors fairly so they can stick with it. That's how we build a durable, independent newsroom for our part of Durham.
If local news in our daily mailings helped inform at least one decision you've made this year, please consider giving ahead of Giving Tuesday. Remember: a percentage of all revenue between now and Dec. 31, 2025, goes to the Hope Valley Elementary School PTA! And if you contribute to Southpoint Access, you can pick a favorite local nonprofit to receive advertising space on our site and in our newsletters.
Oh, and don't forget to tell your neighbors about Southpoint Access.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
