Across North Carolina, more than 272 active outages have left 41,359 customers without power.

In our region in South Durham, outages are affecting more than 3,600 customers.

The largest outage – along the Page Road/U.S. 70 corridor in southeastern Durham County - affects about 3,315 customers. Duke Energy estimates electrical service should be restored by 12:30 p.m. So far, the cause of that outage is unknown.

The next largest is along University Drive between Old Chapel Hill Road and Ivy Creek Boulevard, affecting 317 customers. Power should be restored by 3:30 p.m., according to Duke Energy.

Finally, 60 customers are without power along Cascade Drive off Mt. Sinai Road, where fallen trees or limbs damaged equipment. Power could be restored by 1:15 p.m.
