Trick or Treat? You Choose the Future of Local News.

This Halloween, help keep South Durham’s news from becoming a ghost story.

Trick or Treat? You Choose the Future of Local News.

Hey, Neighbor!

This spooky season, we’re thinking about things that vanish. Pumpkins rot. Candy bowls empty. And too often, local news outlets disappear.

Across the country, communities are losing trusted neighborhood news sources faster than ever. But here in South Durham, Southpoint Access is still shining a light - sharing school updates, local events, public safety alerts, and neighborhood stories that big outlets overlook.

We can keep doing it… but only with your help.

A recent Gallup poll found that trust in national news has sunk to about 28% - yet local journalism like ours remains one of the few reliable, community-focused sources people still believe in. That trust matters. It’s what connects us as neighbors.

So this Halloween, we’re asking:

🎃 Trick or treat?

Thank you for believing that local news is worth saving.

Stay spooky, stay informed -
