[Video] Nerdspresso Phase II: Next-Gen Horror
Jeff Stanford’s son, Tate, joins Jeff and Wes Platt to talk “Obsession,” “Backrooms,” Halloween favorites, and what makes horror stick with a new generation.

Hey, neighbors!
Jeff Stanford and I have plenty of opinions about horror movies. For Episode 25 of Nerdspresso Phase II, we invited someone who could challenge a few of them: Jeff’s son, Tate.
Tate’s a big fan of “Obsession” and “Backrooms,” and he joined us for a conversation about what makes these movies connect with his generation, what two older nerds see in them, and why a familiar horror premise can still leave you rattled.
“Obsession has stuck with me the most,” Tate says.
A heads-up before you press play: We discuss major plot details and endings, especially for “Obsession” and “Backrooms,” along with disturbing scenes and mature themes.
