Walmart takes lead as average SoDu Shopping Basket climbs
The average 17-item basket rose about $1 this week, while Walmart posted the biggest decline and Harris Teeter recorded the largest increase.

SoDu Price Check - Week of Sept. 10, 2026
Walmart moved from third place to become the least expensive store in this week’s SoDu Shopping Basket, even as the average cost across all nine stores increased.
The average basket rose from $66.40 on Sept. 2 to $67.41 on Sept. 9, an increase of $1.01, or about 1.5%.
Walmart’s total dropped $2.85 to $50.63, putting it ahead of Aldi at $52.31 and Food Lion at $52.84. Wegmans followed at $55.83, unchanged from last week.
