A Birthday Wish for South Durham
I'm asking 100 neighbors to help raise $5,000 by Sept. 22 to expand independent local journalism through Southpoint Access.

This month, Southpoint Access turns two as a full-time pursuit for me. And on Sept. 22, I'll celebrate another birthday of my own.
Instead of gifts (although I really wouldn't mind a Lego Millennium Falcon), I'd rather see 100 neighbors in and around South Durham strengthening independent local journalism right here in our backyard.

It's a pretty simple goal: Raise $5,000 to fund freelance reporting, public records requests, photography, and other expenses that help Southpoint Access cover more of the stories that matter to our community.

If 100 neighbors contribute an average of $50 each, we can expand coverage of schools, local government, development, businesses, parks, transportation, and the people who make South Durham home.
Local news matters. Let's do more to keep neighbors informed.
If Southpoint Access has helped you stay informed, discover a local business, follow a school issue, learn about a development proposal, or simply feel more connected to South Durham, I hope you'll consider becoming one of the 100 neighbors helping fund the next chapter of local reporting.
