The Durham County Board of Commissioners on Monday is expected to hammer out details of a proposed nine-month moratorium on data centers.

Among the issues left to resolve:

  • How long the pause should last
  • Which facilities should be covered
  • Whether to exempt some new or expanded projects

The purpose of the work session is to give county staff direction on a draft before proceeding to a required public hearing and vote. That's tentatively scheduled for Aug. 24.
