[Editor Review] Sociopath, A Memoir - Jeff Stanford

What he didn't like: "Gagne is sometimes too clever for her own good. Not every moment needs a clever aside. We get it, you’re witty. Her exploits in the LA music scene come off less like a memoir and more like bragging."

  • Something Jeff liked: "Memoirist Patric Gagne puts a face on sociopathic behavior beyond Patrick Bateman, Hannibal Lecter and Dexter Morgan. She is not a serial killer or dark avenger, but a smart and funny outsider that feels disconnected from her feelings and others. Chronicling her life from childhood to adulthood, Gagne’s insights will change your perspective on a disorder that has been synonymous with criminal behavior. Far from a 'woe is me' confessional, Sociopath is a dark and funny coming of age tale. This book is a fascinating read."
  • Something Jeff didn't like: "Gagne is sometimes too clever for her own good. Not every moment needs a clever aside. We get it, you’re witty. Her exploits in the LA music scene come off less like a memoir and more like bragging. She’s always a little too impressed with herself, but again, she is a sociopath so that tracks, I guess."
  • Recommended to Neighbors: Yes.
