Fill That Bus Celebrates 25 Years of Supporting Durham Classrooms
The annual community school supply drive runs July 13 through Aug. 14, helping Crayons2Calculators stock supplies for teachers across Durham Public Schools.

Durham residents can help stock classrooms across Durham Public Schools as the annual Fill That Bus school supply drive celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The campaign runs from July 13 through Aug. 14. Crayons2Calculators, a program of the Durham Public Schools Foundation, organizes the drive to provide free supplies to DPS educators.
“Every year, we look to the community to help us restock our shelves,” C2C program manager Eunice Sanders said. “The more we can raise during Fill That Bus, the better we can serve all DPS teachers and classrooms year-round.”
During the 2025-26 school year, C2C distributed more than $201,000 in supplies to 2,482 classrooms throughout the district.
Michelle Stanback launched Fill The Bus in 2001 through the Durham Regional Association of Realtors. The campaign has since grown into a communitywide effort supporting every DPS school.
Residents can participate by hosting a supply drive, shopping the C2C Amazon or Walmart wishlists, making a financial contribution, or becoming a sponsor. Two Men and a Truck will assist with pickups and deliveries.
