On May 12, Renada Cammon put down her baton for the last time directing a band concert before families at Rogers-Herr Middle School.
Cammon, a teacher for 30 years and two of those decades at Rogers-Herr, is retiring from Durham Public Schools at the end of this academic year and moving to Fayetteville. The music boosters organization set up a fundraising page to collect for her retirement.
