As we delve into the specifics of Californian wine, it should come as no surprise that the first stop on our journey will be Napa Valley. It is here that the world was introduced to the concept of quality American wine.  We’ll see how that came to be, and what to look for at your local wine shop (or the Teeter).

To say that the Judgment of Paris in 1976 was seismic is both a bit of a stretch and not. In the United States, it became a talking point, though the French press took little interest. This wasn’t the first blind tasting that showed the U.S. on top, but it certainly cemented the understanding that it would not be the last.
