[Nerdspresso] Tom Cruise Is More Famous Than Me - Should I Just Shut Up?
I enjoy spectacle as much as the next guy, but I also remember an actor who effortlessly went head-to-head with screen legends like Paul Newman, Dustin Hoffman, and Jack Nicholson.

A photo popped up on my socials recently that I really thought was a joke. It looked like one of those images that fans put together for imaginary sequels. You’ve seen them, right? They look real but also fake because they promote movies that no one would really make or even be interested in seeing. I’m talking about stuff like Forrest Gump 2 or an Alien vs. Predator reboot starring both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sigourney Weaver.

Okay, maybe we’d stand in line for that one. But these imposter movies are usually focused on unlikely sequels featuring stars that would never actually share the same screen. When I came across a post featuring Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway touting Days of Thunder 2, I dismissed it as an internet prank. It had to be ridiculous fan art by the one person dying for the return of Cole Trickle and then wanting to pair him with that plucky gal from The Devil Wears Prada.

Turns out that person does exist, and he is Tom Cruise. As you’ve now probably heard, Days of Thunder 2 is REALLY happening. Announced on social media and confirmed by Variety, production starts soon with the flick hitting cinemas during the summer of 2028. I try not to yuck anyone’s yum, but does anyone besides the Cruiser want to see this movie? I went to the last two Indiana Jones movies in the theater, and even this flick is not my jam.
