7:43 a.m.: The National Weather Service reports that scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected later today, with gusty winds and brief periods of heavy rainfall. Heat index values will range from the upper 90s to low 100s.
7:41 a.m.: Durham City Hall is expected to open at 11 a.m. today as crews work to restore power after an overnight outage.
7:38 a.m.: Slow going in both directions when we look at traffic on I-885 between I-40 and downtown Durham this morning.

7:26 a.m.: Fuel prices around South Durham are creeping back up above $3.70 at some stations currently monitored by Southpoint Access.
