[SoDu Sunrise Showcase] A Farewell to Flavor

[SoDu Sunrise Showcase] A Farewell to Flavor

On my drive around South Durham on a gray and dreary Tuesday, I passed Mexico Lindo y Querido on NC Highway 55 and noticed the parking lot was empty.

At lunchtime?

Then I saw the white paper fixed to the front door:

"SORRY WE ARE CLOSED

We apologize, but we are no longer able to keep MLQ2 OPEN. Thank you for all the support along the way. Please visit our first location 2103 N. Roxboro St., Durham, 27704."

I first met Edna de Luna and her husband, Gustavo Angel, back when I started working on Southpoint Access full time in July 2024. It was difficult not to feel a connection, given that we were all starting something new and hoping for growth and success.

But that space at 4325 NC Hwy 55, between a gas station and a motel, has struggled in more than just this iteration. Sad, but true. At least they've still got their North Durham location. If you were a fan of their food, they also cater! Call them at 919-323-5784.
