[SoDu Sunrise Showcase] Durham Students Putting on a Show to Remember

Got plans on Feb. 11? Act fast, you might be able to score tickets the the big show at the Durham Performing Arts Center.

Maybe you've heard of it? An Evening to Shine. More than 350 Durham Public Schools students, working with vocal clinicians and choreographers, are putting on a performance that benefits the Durham Promise Scholarship Fund, which helps at least one senior at each DPS high school.

Will Moriah Make It?

The Durham City Council tonight has scheduled a public hearing for the Moriah Ridge project - a big development that got the cold shoulder from the Planning Commission. However, that doesn't always persuade the City Council to follow along.


Hope Valley Elementary Kicking Off Boosterthon: This fundraiser aims to raise $25,000 toward remodeling the teachers' break room and also help families dealing with challenges posed by the new "family responsibility zones."


YouthWorks Program Open to Durham Applicants: Learn job skills and earn up to $880 in the city's workforce readiness program. Applications due no later than midnight on Feb. 21.
