[Southpoint Access] Join the Revamped Discord Server!

The Southpoint Access Discord server recently got a robust revamp, expanding channels on the server to provide more options for readers to participate in our online South Durham community.

Channels are now divided into the following categories:

• SoDu Local News and Alerts: Headlines from Southpoint Access.
• SoDu Neighborhood Connections: Channels dedicated to subdivisions around South Durham. Let me know if we need to add any!
• Family and Youth Activities: For discussions about parenting and youth activities.
• Local Events: Add important local events using the /event command and share volunteer opportunities.
• Local Business and Jobs: For posting about local businesses and sharing job prospects in the region.
• SoDu Marketplace: Share stuff you want to buy or sell, anything you’re giving away for free, and any recommendations you’ve got for different services.
• Sports and Recreation: For pickup sports, hiking and biking, and hobbies and crafts.
• Local Government and Civic Engagement: Topics related to Durham City Council, Durham Board of County Commissioners, Durham Public Schools, and community organizations.
• Community Support: Topics around mutual aid, health and wellness, and faith-based organizations.
• Fun and Off Topic: For talking about pets, food and drink, sharing photos of South Durham, streaming entertainment, video and tabletop games, live local music, and the new SoDu Book Club.
• Milestones: Links to Southpoint Access posts about birth reports, marriage applications, obituaries, and new business filings.
