New Durham school inspections flag repeat repairs at Mangum and Neal
The updated Southpoint Access guide includes newer reports for three cafeterias and one school building, while all 106 cafeteria records in the guide still carry A grades.

Four newer Durham County inspection reports added to the Southpoint Access school and cafeteria guide show strong numerical scores alongside several maintenance and sanitation concerns, including repeat equipment problems and building repairs.
The latest reports cover cafeterias at Northern High School, Neal Middle School, and Mangum Elementary School, as well as the Mangum school building. The inspections took place Oct. 27 and Oct. 28.
Northern’s cafeteria received a perfect 100. The Neal and Mangum lunchrooms each received a 99 and an A grade. Mangum’s building received a 95. School-building inspections use numerical scores but don’t receive the letter grades assigned to food-service operations.
The update doesn’t change the guide’s broader totals. It still includes 225 current records: 106 cafeteria operations and 119 school facilities. The average cafeteria score remains 97.9, and every cafeteria record in the collection carries an A.
