This week’s SoDu Crime Watch review covers 66 public-facing Durham Police Department incident listings from South Durham, southwest Durham, and southeast Durham corridors from July 5-10, 2026.

The information was gathered from the Durham Police Department’s Police-to-Citizen public incident listings, which include block-level location, date, time, and offense category.

The most common reported incidents in our area this week were vehicle-related thefts and shoplifting.

Vehicle break-ins and motor vehicle thefts were reported along or near Mt. Moriah Road, Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, Fayetteville Road, Leigh Farm Road, N.C. Highway 54 East, N.C. Highway 55, South Miami Boulevard, and nearby residential streets.

Shoplifting reports clustered around major retail corridors, including Fayetteville Road, McFarland Drive, New Hope Commons Drive, Renaissance Parkway, Mt. Moriah Road, and South Miami Boulevard.

Vandalism and fraud-related reports were more scattered.
