This week’s SoDu Crime Watch review covers 61 Durham Police Department incident listings from South Durham, Southwest Durham, and Southeast Durham corridors from July 17-23, 2026.

The information was gathered from the Durham Police Department’s Police-to-Citizen public incident listings.

Vehicle-related theft was the largest category, accounting for 28 listings. That total included 18 thefts from vehicles, nine motor vehicle thefts, and one theft of automobile parts or accessories.

Four thefts from vehicles were listed along Emperor Boulevard on July 20 between 2 and 4:44 p.m. Two motor vehicle thefts were listed in the 3500 block of Century Oaks Drive, one at 6 p.m. July 18 and another at 8:04 a.m. July 19.

Police listed 10 shoplifting reports. Five came from the 6400, 6900, and 7000 blocks of Fayetteville Road. Other shoplifting locations included Renaissance Parkway, New Hope Commons Drive, Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Chapel Hill Road, and N.C. 751.

Six listings each involved fraud, vandalism, and larceny from a building. Police also listed three burglaries and two other larcenies.
