South Durham and adjoining RTP-area corridors logged 87 property crime and lost-property reports from Aug. 27 through Sept. 3, according to Durham Police Department public event data.

Larceny accounted for 62 reports, or about 71% of the weekly total. That category included 28 thefts from motor vehicles, 22 shoplifting reports, eight other larcenies, two thefts from buildings, and two thefts of vehicle parts or accessories. Police also recorded six motor vehicle thefts, eight fraud or forgery reports, seven vandalism reports, two burglaries, and two lost-property reports.
