Until 8 p.m., Durham County is under a heat advisory from the National Weather Service. Heat index values could reach as high as 108 degrees.

Neighbors should drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, avoid the sun, and check on relatives - and each other. If you're outside, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothes.
